This is the privacy policy for Briick Pty Ltd ABN 45 675 503 545 (trading as "Briick") for the Briick Website.


Briick takes your privacy seriously and has provided this privacy policy which sets out our information gathering and usage practices. For additional information about using the briick.com Website, please review our terms and conditions.


By using our Website, or otherwise providing personal information to us, you acknowledge that we will collect, use, store and disclose personal information in accordance with applicable laws and this privacy policy.


In this privacy policy:

  • "Users" are both Briick “Members" (Real Estate professionals & Tradies) and Briick "Clients" (Homeowners and Buyers), as defined in our terms and conditions.
  • "Personal Information" is information about an identifiable individual, as defined in the Privacy Act 2020 and Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).


Overview of how we store and protect your data

  • We use industry standard HTTPS and SSL to secure all data communications
  • Passwords are hashed and salted (we don’t store passwords in plaintext and we can't decrypt them)
  • Information such as name, phone, email is stored in our secure database (as plaintext)
  • Briick Clients name and phone number will never be made public. They will only be shared with Briick members when a Client choose to match with one
  • Briick members name is publicly visible as part of their profile, while  phone number and email will only be shown once a Briick Client requests to view them (by asking to be "matched")
  • Information Briick Users send to customer support may be stored on services such as Zendesk
  • We use cookies to provide secure account access and account checks
  • We don’t store credit card information if provided. This information is stored using PCI compliant third party providers
  • Any ID documentation that Users upload is only accessible by themself and Briick administrative staff. It is only stored on our server and backups

 

 

1. Use of information 


1.1  We will use and disclose Briick Users personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Purposes for which we use and disclose personal information include: 


1.1.1 Briick enable Briick Clients to find all the real estate professional and tradies people they need to successfully buy, sell and renovate a property. After entering what service they need and where, they will be able to view all the relevant members profiles and select the one they want to work with. We forward these job/service requests directly to the selected Member with the Client information. 


1.1.2. When a Briick Client selects to match with one of our Members on Briick, they expressly consent to being contacted by us and by our Members via phone, fax, email, mail, or other reasonable means, at any of their contact numbers or addresses. This communication is for the purpose of providing the Services outlined on our Website, servicing their account, addressing matters related to their account, or for other reasonable business purposes.


1.1.3.  When a Briick Client matched with one of our Briick Member, various personal information may be provided to each party by Briick, and may be provided by us either at the time of connection or at a later time. 


1.1.4.  In order to protect against accreditation fraud, if a member adds a valid accreditation to their account we may contact the owner of the accreditation and provide them with details of the account that entered their accreditation. Details may include trading name, director/owner name, and contact details. 


1.1.5.  We may post and publish Briick Clients' feedback and reviews of our Members' performance, as well as testimonials, at our sole discretion. Published feedback and testimonials may include the Client’s name and general location. If you would like your feedback to remain anonymous, please email us at hello@briick.com


1.1.6.  To verify address, entity, or identity, data entered or to check the creditworthiness of our Users we reserve the right to obtain information through third parties and public sources. For this purpose, the information collected during registration including the name of the individual or the business, address and date of birth, if appropriate, are sent to a business credit agency or other credit reference agency to check the address and creditworthiness of the Professional or Subscriber in question. The credit agency is required to protect the data. 


1.1.7.  In the event of any breach of contract (e.g. termination for failure to pay, debt recovery proceedings or enforcing a judgment), we may also send personal information to a credit reference agency. In such a case the data will only be transferred and stored to the extent necessary to protect our interests or the interests of the general public. The User shall be informed of the intended recipient of the data before it is transferred. 


1.2  From time to time Briick may wish to forward Briick Users contact details on to partners. Briick will always ask its Users for their consent before forwarding any details. 


1.3  We release account and other personal information only when we believe release is appropriate:

 
1.3.1.  for legal compliance and law enforcement (including to government agencies with statutory law enforcement responsibilities); 


1.3.2.  to facilitate court proceedings; 


1.3.3.  to enforce or apply our terms and conditions; or 


1.3.4.  to protect the rights, property, or safety of Briick, our users, or others. Government agencies with statutory roles enabling them to request data from us includes, but is not restricted to, Police, IRD, ATO and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. Users can contact Briick to ask whether their personal information has been provided to a Government agency. 


1.4  If a dispute arises between Briick Users, or a User wishes to initiate Disputes Tribunal proceedings against another User, they may contact Briick or the Disputes Tribunal to request contact details for the sole purpose of making a claim.


 


2. Email 


2.1 Briick's policy is to send Users emails throughout the process of providing services, as well as other emails they have elected to receive, in addition to customary business communications (such as payment confirmations). Briick will also send newsletters and other marketing communications to Users, including promotional material from affiliated partners. By registering, each User consents to receive such communications by email. Newsletters and marketing communications will contain clear and obvious instructions on how Users can unsubscribe from the mailing list. It is our policy to promptly remove any User from a mailing list upon request.


2.2  We use electronic means (including online forms) to receive feedback, including testimonials, from Users. Feedback provided by Users may be published by us on our Website and may be removed by us at our sole discretion. 


2.3 Briick provides a feature to refer a friend to Briick. Users may not use this service or any other email forwarding services we offer to send spam or content that violates this Privacy Policy or our Terms and Conditions.

 

2.4 By creating an account on the Briick Platform, Users expressly consent to receiving our product-related commercial emails, including but not limited to updates on new features, promotions, newsletters, and other relevant information. These communications are intended to keep Users informed about platform improvements and offerings that may be of interest. Users have the right to opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the emails or by contacting us directly at hello@briick.com. Please note that even if a User opts out of marketing communications, they will still receive administrative emails necessary for account operation and service delivery.



3. Users registration 


3.1 Our Website's registration form requires Users to provide contact information and may also request demographic details.

 

3.2 At our discretion, we may require a Member’s registered company name or personal name, insurance policy details, and references to conduct a credit check and/or background check before approving a Professional or a Tradie to join our network.

 


4. Updating your personal information 


4.1 Users have the right to request access to or correction of their personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (AU).

 

4.2 Subject to certain grounds for refusal outlined in the applicable laws, Users have the right to access their readily retrievable personal information held by Briick and request corrections if necessary.

 

4.3 Briick provides Users with options to update their personal information, including changing their email address, physical address, password, phone numbers, and other details. To ensure compliance with our Terms and Conditions—particularly the policy of one account per User—Briick may retain previous email addresses, NZBN numbers, and other historical account information.

 

4.4 Users are responsible for notifying us if their personal information needs to be corrected or updated.

 


5. Control of your password 


5.1 Users are responsible for all actions taken using their username and password, including any associated fees. We strongly recommend that Users do not share their Briick username or password with any third parties. If a User chooses to share their login credentials or personal information with third parties, they remain fully responsible for all actions taken using this information.

 


6. Credit card security 


6.1 Briick prioritises the security of its Users' personal information, including credit and debit card details. It is important to note that Briick does not process credit or debit card payments directly on its website.

6.2 Member payments on the Briick website are securely processed by Stripe, a third-party payment provider. When a User makes a payment, their card details are transmitted directly to Stripe using industry-standard encryption. Briick does not have access to or store full payment information.

6.3 Stripe handles all transactions in accordance with its own Privacy Policy and PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) compliance to ensure secure processing. By using Briick’s services, Users agree to Stripe’s handling of their payment information.

6.4 It is important for Users to protect against unauthorized access to their passwords and devices. Users are responsible for ensuring they log out after visiting the Briick website, especially when accessing it from a shared or public computer.

 


7. Cookies 


7.1 A cookie is a piece of data tied to information about the User and stored on the User's computer. Cookies are widely used across major websites. A cookie provides details such as the User’s IP address, the computer platform being used (e.g., Mac or Windows), the browser type, and the domain from which Briick’s website is accessed.

 

7.2 By accepting cookies, Users reduce the number of times they need to log in, thereby saving time while navigating the website. Cookies also help Briick display the most relevant content and track traffic patterns to improve the User experience.

 

7.3 Users who prefer not to use cookies can disable them through their browser settings and/or delete them from their hard drive. However, disabling cookies may result in a limited experience or restricted access to certain areas of the Briick website.

 


8. Other information we collect 


8.1 Briick uses additional information to conduct internal research on User demographics, interests, and behavior to better understand and serve its Users. This information may include the URL previously visited (whether on Briick’s website or not), the next URL accessed, the browser type, and the User’s IP address.

 

8.2 Users who log in have their IP addresses recorded. This information is stored securely and will not be shared with other Users or unauthorised third parties. It will only be disclosed to legal authorities in cases of suspected fraud or for law enforcement purposes.

 

8.3 If a User chooses to leave feedback for other Users, Briick collects and stores the information provided.

 

8.4 If a User sends personal correspondence, such as emails or letters, or if other Users or third parties send correspondence regarding a User’s activities or postings on the website, Briick may collect and store this information in a file specific to the relevant User.

 


9. Use of Shared Information

9.1 A Member may only use the personal information of a Briick Client, obtained through the matching process, exclusively for the purpose of carrying out the relevant job and/or service requested by the Client.

 


10. User removal 


10.1 Briick will disable a User’s account upon request. To request account deactivation, a User must send an email to hello@briick.com 


10.2  Briick will delete a User’s email and name upon request. To request the removal of this personal information, the following process must be followed:

  • Submit a request via email to hello@briick.com, stating the intention to delete personal data and providing the email address associated with the account.
  • Briick will send a confirmation email to verify the request. The User must reply to this email to confirm ownership of the provided email address.
  • The support team will delete the requested data within 30 working days and will confirm the action via email.

 


11. Advertising and Third-Party Links

 

11.1 Some Briick advertisers may request information directly from Users or provide links to external sites that do so. Briick has no control over the privacy policies of its advertisers and encourages Users to review these policies before submitting any personal information.

 

11.2 Briick may include non-advertising links to various third-party websites to enhance the User experience. Briick does not control the content or privacy policies of these sites, nor should such links be considered endorsements unless explicitly stated otherwise.

 


12. Updates to Information Practices

 

12.1 Briick may periodically update its information practices or modify the functionality of its Website. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be reflected accordingly, and Users are encouraged to review this page regularly for the latest updates on privacy practices. If Briick makes significant changes that materially affect User rights or the handling of personal data, Users will be notified directly via email or through a notice on the Website, as required under applicable privacy laws in Australia and New Zealand.

 

12.2 Continued use of the Website after any policy updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. Any personal information collected or held by Briick will be subject to the updated policy.
